At the German International School Riyadh, children and young people from different countries, cultures, and language backgrounds come together. Our language concept acknowledges this diversity while ensuring that all students can confidently follow German-language instruction. <\/p>\n

Many of our students grow up multilingual or do not learn German as their first language. German is often considered a demanding language with complex grammar and high linguistic precision. To enable all children to successfully access instruction and the German education system, we offer a structured and mandatory German as a Foreign Language (DaF) program. <\/p>\n

DaF instruction is conducted by specially trained professionals and is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The goal is to systematically build and continuously expand students’ linguistic competence. <\/p>\n

Support is provided:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

  • in small learning groups or individual settings<\/span><\/li>\n
  • with specially adapted teaching and learning materials<\/span><\/li>\n
  • based on regular language assessments<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    DaF is offered continuously from kindergarten through primary school to secondary level and is integrated into class schedules on an individual basis. Students’ language development is regularly reviewed in subject conferences and class conferences, and support is adjusted accordingly. <\/p>\n

    DaF instruction at DISR is fee-based and represents a targeted investment in a long-term successful academic career within the German education system.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Students not only acquire subject competencies but also learn to confidently understand and apply technical terms, academic language, and complex content in German. <\/p>\n
